The viewer seeks to consume the naked form with their gaze only to find she has been laid out and prepared to be consumed for lunch. She has been striped of all humanity and lifelessly waits to be devoured. The apples and cheeze echo her anatomy, and they too are being stuck with knives and await ingesgion. The lone wine bottle, Alice White, stands alone as a phallic male presance, filled with the seeds of bad judgement, and may be partly to blaim for the women's predicament.

Since the head and calves have been cropped, only the parts interesting to the male gaze remain, and the lack of head creates a lack of interactive energy in the work. This adds to the 'slab of meat' effect, and gives the viewer a hint twords solving the metaphoric puzzle.


I would have loved to use a triangle composition like the old masters to really reinforce the Idea that it was a classical nude, but I found no way to incorperate it. Also, the lighting is bad in this photo, but due to the sizeof the picture, it is almost impossible to light.
